short letter this week! still trying to get a good groove going with this new schedule of working in the courthouse but man do i love it!!! we are able to work with these super old books that are literally falling apart in our hands as we take pictures of them. so you know that this process is necessary! but we also get to work alongside some really awesome people of the community and get to know them as we flip through these pages with them. the spirit of elijah is definitely there and im glad im able to experience it with the people of Columbiana!
that takes up a lot of our time but thankfully were able to still knock a few doors and this week we tracted into a family that wants to have us back! yay!! can't wait to teach them how families can be together forever!! ill let yall know how it goes!
we were able to help out at a member's house this week with cleaning and it was amazing!! she has 3 children with special needs. one with autism, one with sensory problems, and one with down syndrome. my heart literally melted when i walked into their home. there is a sweet spirit that fills that home and ahhh i just loved it!! the little boy james with down syndrome held my hand all night and ahhh my heart just melted yall! so because i was busy holding james hand sister winter took one for the team and crawled under the bed and found 14 apple cores under the kids beds. dried up apple cores and orange peels and all that good stuff! hey! at least theyre being healthy better than me! but it was definitely a special night!!
sister winter and i weren't feeling too good this week so we stayed in and i learned something bout sister not summer that i din't quite fully know. did yall know that she is obsessed with america?? cause she is and i LOVE IT! she started singing me all these songs about america that i didn't even know existed and then she stood up, put her hand over her heart and belted, GOD BLESS THE USA! like yall she keeps me laughing and the best part about it is she is dead serious!! i love it so much! and i love having her as my comp! there isn't a day that goes by without her cracking me up!! i swear im gonna have a six pack by the time this transfer is over!
miracle of the week:
went out to eat for lunch today at panera cause you know, pday is the day to splurge (treat yo self!) and before we could pay fro our meal a super nice lady pushed us away and payed for it. we were a little confused but super grateful! turns out the neighboring ward alabaster, was having a little birthday party for one of the lady's in the ward and they invited us to eat with them! it was such a lovely meal and such a fun time getting to know the women! ahh i love this place and I LOVE THESE PEOPLE!!! i will never be able to say that enough!
well i thought this would be a short one but i guess not hahah! getting ready for a movie night the ward is throwing for anyone and everyone! it's this Saturday at 5:30 at the Columbiana ward building and there's gonna be free dinner and the full restoration movie! bring your chairs and blankets cause its gonna be a fun movie night on the projection screen and it's gonna be awesome sooooo if anyone wants to come yall are invited (*cough cough the glenns cough cough*) so there's that.....
coolest moment of the week:
had our zone training in TUSCALOOSA!!!!! like what?? that's all that needs to be said cause how much cooler can it get???
Alma 44: "3 And now ye see that ye cannot destroy this our faith. 4 Now ye see that this is the true faith of God; yea, ye see that God will support, and keep, and preserve us, so long as we are faithful unto him, and unto our faith, and our religion" I LOVE this! This transfer I am really trying to focus on having faith be my main thing I work on and this scripture just showed me the power that true faith can have. and i just LOVE that!
okay love yall! hope you have a blessed week!
