wait what?? i didn't just eat candy at 2 in the morning?!...March 13, 2017...week 23

well yall! this is the letter you've been waiting for. a ton of crazy stuff happened this week!

first things first! remember the girl we were teaching back in a-city , Shanay?? Well SHE GOT BAPTIZED!!!!! YAAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAAYAYAAYYAYAYAAYAYAYAYAAYAYAYAY! that my friends is how excited i am for her! a little heartbroken i couldn't be there, but so glad that she took the step into the waters of baptism! oh my heart!

also to clear up some things to stop yall from thinking i've gone apostate and stayed up super late! like 2 am late! this week we had the privilege of having thunder and lightning storms roll through bama and make our dearly beloved weather radio/ ALARM go off 4 times in one night. that's right folks. and the only thing getting me through it was maybe or maybe not eating the sweet tarts sister not summer's mom sent us. #blessed but man that was a rough night with very little sleep!

opening an area is a little harder than i thought it would be. especially when you look on your whiteboard and after 3 weeks of tracting you only have 2 investigators on the board. and then you go to follow up with one of them and they tell you to not come back and so in a sense they drop us. ughh BUT with the new time slot we had due to our appt that fell through we stop by a members home, helped them clean out their garage and got meal appt after church this next Sunday! God had one of our gators drop us so we could strengthen a members faith and have a meal appt next week! isn't God good??

so we taught a wizard this week. that's right a real wizard. just kidding he was just getting ready for the renaissance fair he was going to but he was a pretty cool dude! we saw him when visiting our now 1 investigator in the same complex taking pictures in the field so we thought, eh why not? and as were walking up to him he goes, "what?! you think the witch needs saving???" hahaha that got us all laughing and then we proceeded to talk to him for about 40 min about the gospel, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and again the BOM. He wasn't too interested but he did have a ton of mormon friends so that was pretty cool! all the while Sis Winter got sunburned. ironic haha

we were able to have dinner at the bishops house again and man they are a hoot! Bishop Thompson says that we've now entered "4 shades of wacky" with all the stuff that was going on. they crack me up!

things at the courthouse are going good! we finally are getting settled with the scheduling but still make mistakes here and there. we will be sending off our first batch of pictures to SLC soon so wish us luck that we do it right!

Sis Not Summer and I have our 6 months coming up soon and have decided that we want to finish the BOM on our 6 month day and so we've been reading like mad over here! We just finished Alma and i don't get why people complain about the war chapters?? it's like a movie with a super cool hero, Captain Moroni! Well I've read a lot of great stuff this week but i think one of my favorites was this:  Helaman is talking about his army of two thousand young men who I like to relate to us as missionaries:

"19 But behold, my little band of two thousand and sixty fought most desperately; yea, they were firm before the Lamanites...
.20 And as the remainder of our army were about to give way before the Lamanites, behold, those two thousand and sixty were firm and undaunted.
21 Yea, and they did obey and observe to perform every word of command with exactness; yea, and even according to their faith it was done unto them; and I did remember the words which they said unto me that their mothers had taught them. 26...And we do justly ascribe it to the miraculous power of God, because of their exceeding faith in that which they had been taught to believe—that there was a just God, and whosoever did not doubt, that they should be preserved by his marvelous power. 27 Now this was the faith of these of whom I have spoken; they are young, and their minds are firm, and they do put their trust in God continually."
Man I just love that! As a missionary I want to become that! firm and undaunted. I love having Sis Winter as that example for me and I can't wait to one day be as the army of helaman.  i'm trying!

well i hope that y'all have a blessed week and an awesome st. patty's day!! don't party too hard!
love
