ughhh it sucked saying goodbye but it's okay because sister winter had me laughing all the way home to keep my mind off things!! also got to see my sistah terry cause SHES TRAINING AGAIN! ahh so exctied for her and her new trainee cause no joke she has the best rainer in the whole mission and im not just saying that!
well i guess i'll start off by telling y'all what were doing here in columbiana. so SLC is running this pilot program of digitizing old records from a courthouse for Family Search. this courthouse happens to be right here in columbiana and holds thousands of important documents, who knew?? well SLC did and so they are testing out this program with 4 other big document places in the world but as of right now we are the leading one. Sister winter and I's job is to run this program and to organize it all together with the help of the Shelby County Courthouse and if all goes well and we don't mess it up, SLC will launch the program to everywhere else! Pretty cool, huh?? Like this could change the how we can look up records for family history/ genealogy! Sis not summer and i are so excited to be apart of this journey and hope that we can do our best to get this program to be good enough to use all other places. Wish us luck!!
so we're in a biking only area which just mean fun stories will be headed your way ALL TRANSFER LONG. so your welcome in advance. first exciting thing happened on Friday when i turn back to talk to sis not summer and a pitbull is right at her feet chaSING US! so all i could say was PEDDLE FASTER cause i may or may not have been terrified! and so we just peddled our little hearts out and were finally able to out run(?) the dog. thank goodness. the Lord blesses us in many ways yall! hahah
we were able to have dinner at the bishop's house and man, him and his wife are a hoot! he likes to describe them as 3 shades of wacky but oh my goodness, they had us dying ALL.NIGHT.LONG. i haven't laughed that hard in a long time. like straight up in the middle of making cookies they had a full out water fight. they are like just so funny! and you can thank the new nicknames to Sister Thompson, the bishops wife. she came up with SIster Dead president and Sister not summer OR Utah, it alternates here and there! oh and did i mention she has a blue streak in her hair??? like how much cooler can she get! ahhh love them!
so we've been working in the courthouse with all these old documents and i legit feel like im in National treasure hahah ill take some pictures for ya and show you where we work at next week!
our bathroom flooded on day 3 and had to clean that up before riding our bikes to district meeting up a pretty decent hill if i do say so myself. fav quote from sister winter that day, *walks into room* "hi how do you clean a swimming pool in your bathroom??" hahahh i love her!!! you know us, just keeping it real out here in columbiana!!
